How do you save a display window in Dynamics NAV?

If you want to save a display window (with or without filters), you can do so from the “save view as” option. This feature enables you to save customer lists, for example, Nationals, EU, foreign, without needing to apply a filter each time. Or product lists filtered by specific characteristics, etc.

For example, if you want to save a display with invoices from 2015, follow the steps below:

  • Access the invoice history and apply the filter for the desired dates.
  • Select from the Name of the window, Views/Save view as
  • You should give it a unique name and say where you want to save it. In this case, in historic documents, and select Accept.
  • When restarting the customer and accessing the historic documents, you will see the view you have saved in the corresponding menu.


This view is personal to each user, so only the user who saved it will be able to see it. If you want this view to be available to more than one user, you should create it in all of the users who you want to see it.
